Report Women! Project training for investigative reporting of girls and women: call for application




 


The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Nigeria invites
entries from Nigerian professional journalists from the print, 
broadcast and photography specialties to the Girls and Women 
Investigative Reporting Training – *Ekiti State *Rivers State *Abuja

Application deadline: Thursday 14 August, 2014

#ReportWomen! is a collaborative project between the 
Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) and 
the Royal Netherlands Embassy (RNE) designed to focus on major 
issues of access and abuse, ranging from education, to health care, 
to violence, and early marriage among others on girls and women.

It seeks to advance the partners’ commitment to the respect for the 
girl child and the woman’s rights as human rights. It will use the 
tool of investigative journalism to focus on these issues. Investigative 
Reporting of girls and women training is aimed at building the 
media’s capacity to strategically report girls and women issues as 
well as mainstream girls and women into media reportage generally. 

Participants who are shortlisted for the training will also have the opportunity to pitch for small grants to carry out investigation and 
report girls and women issues based on lessons garnered from the 
training experience.

Note:
Applicants without relevant works but with demonstrated 
commitment and promise may be considered. 

Female journalists are encouraged to apply.

Ekiti State - 20th - 21st August, 2014

Rivers State: 2nd - 3rd September, 2014

Abuja: 17th - 18th September, 2014
