At
this point in our nation when the government of today can no longer protect the
lives and properties of Nigerians as enshrined in the constitution, Nigerians
have no choice than to demand, and effect an immediate change in government
through the ballot come 2015.
The
Naira has just been devalued. Corruption has reached its peak as stealing is no
longer corruption, and the level of unemployment has reach an unimaginable
height while our major infrastructures have been left to decay as we now
remember them “in blessed memory”. The health care system, the education
system, the economy and most importantly the security system have almost
collapsed.
Nigeria
is a country that lives in an imaginary glory. She is the giant of Africa, but
she remains a country that has a large reserve of crude oil but imports refined
products. It is unfortunate that as the price of crude oil falls steadily, the
price of fuel and other refined products has remained same/high in Nigeria
because we sell our crude and buy refined products abroad.
The
APC as the only viable alternative to the PDP has positioned itself as a party
that parades the best in integrity, prudence, zero corruption and above all
those that do not only have an idea on how to turn Nigeria around for good, but
those who have proven same in the past as shown in the enviable records of some
of the leaders of the All Progressive Congress APC.
It
is in view of the above that we urge all the respected presidential aspirants
in the APC to shun the temptation of inducing delegates financially. We also
urge the delegates to resist any financial inducement from anyone.
We
believe that the presidential candidates from APC will be assessed on the basis
of their qualifications, previous records and present standing and so anyone
who is inducing delegates financially does not represent the change that the
APC stands for. We understand that party activities require a lot of logistics
and planning and we know that they incur expenses but we advice that the
aspirants and delegates draw a clear line between taking care of logistics and
financial inducements.
We
urge the APC national delegates for the presidential primary to be vigilant and
composed as the millions of APC members across Nigeria have entrusted their
fate and that of the party in their hand. We wish all the APC presidential
aspirants well in their endeavors and we pray that the best among the
candidates emerge as the APC presidential flag bearer come December 10th
APC presidential primary.
