Moroccan government wants African Nations Cup postponed over Ebola

Nigeria won the title by beating Burkina Faso in 2013
The Moroccan government has requested to postpone next year's African Nations Cup because of fears over the spread of the Ebola virus that has killed over 4,000 people, state news agency MAP has reported.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to review a report from the Moroccan health ministry about the dangers involved with hosting the tournament in the north African country. The Ebola crisis is currently sweeping through west Africa.

Fatalities from the virus have been reported in Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, though no cases have been reported in host-country Morocco.

The Africa Nations Cup is scheduled to run from Jan. 17 to Feb. 8, 2015.
