First copy of Nigeria is Negotiable, the product of more than two decades of work. I praise Baba God for life and strength. I thank my parents for allowing me to be who I wanted to be. I thank my ideological mentor, Dr. Edwin Madunagu for inspiration; my bosses Dapo Olorunyomi, Kunle Ajibade, Nuhu Ribadu, Gbemiga Ogunleye, Kwesi Pratt, Jnr. etc., for believing in me. 

I am immensely grateful to Dr. JKF, the Governor of Ekiti State and Ogbeni Rauf, the Governor of the State of Osun for finding time to read the manuscript. Prof. Yakub Ochefu, VC, Kwararafa University, Dr. Anthony Akinola, Hafsat Abiola-Costello and Dr. Chidi Aslem Odinkalu. This book would not have been possible without your contributions.

My editors, the iconoclast, Godwin Onyeacholem, “the master poet of his generation”, Chiedu Ezeanah, the people’s publisher Danlami Nmodu, Richard Mammah, Austin Uche-Ejeke, Tayo Odunlami, Peter Anyasi, Uche Akpulu, Igwilo Nwachukwu, and master designer, Femi Jolaolu, who accommodates my many requests with an equanimity that is beyond belief, without your prodding and magnanimity in reviewing the manuscript, this book would not have materialized.

My colleagues at AFRICMIL, Lewis Asubiojo, LL Jante, Kingsley Paul, Stanley Metibogun, Nonso Alozie and Wale Abimbola, deserve immense praise for their overwhelming support. I am indebted to my comrades, friends, colleagues and associates too numerous to mention who contributed one way or another to the success of this project. You are all respectfully acknowledged in the book.

Of course, my greatest gratitude is reserved for my family. My spouse, Sola, has been supportive in ways words can’t describe. My darling children, Femi, Mobolaji (who assisted in retyping some of the essays), Dotun and my little princess, Moyosore, who kept prodding, “Daddy, finish your work”, provided the impetus to work.
